Nintendo has had quite a few announcements at this year's Game Developers Conference. Zelda fans will be pleased to learn that the big N has just confirmed a new DS version of the long-lived series: The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Expect to see Spirit Tracks on the DS later this year, with gameplay similar to that of the Phantom Hourglass. Not bad, eh? |

Today's Wii firmware update adds some much needed functionality to the SD cards. The system will now let you play games directly off of a card, meaning you can potentially extend the Wii's storage capacity infinitely. You can even save downloaded titles directly to the card if your internal memory is full. Just pick up a few cheap SD cards, and there you go! |

If you've never played any of the Katamari games, run to the store and pick up a copy for your favorite platform. Well, unless you have a Nintendo DS or a gimped PS3.
Famitsu reports that Namco Bandai is working on a full-HD new Katamari game, to be released this year. It's unclear at this point if it's a full original game or content from past games all mashed together. Either way, I'll be picking this up. The music alone is worth the asking price, assuming it comes in at $39.99 or less! |

If you're one of the unlucky few who ran out and purchased The Pitt DLC for Fallout 3, you've probably already noticed how damn broken the over-priced pack is. Bethesda is scrambling to narrow down the problem, which they claim is a "corrupt file" in the English version of the pack. Fail. If you want to follow the whole sordid thread over at the Bethesda forums, here's your chance! |

If there's one thing in this world that could make me buy an iPhone, this is it. Wolfenstein 3D, the grandaddy of first-person-shooters, has been released for the iPhone, free of charge. And best of all, it's not some lame knock-off, it's the real thing developed by idSoftware! I've been playing the PSP-hacked version for years, but this just takes the cake. Sorry PSP, I think the iPhone is about to dethrone you as my mobile platform of choice. You'll need a jailbroken iPhone. Once you've got that, head over here to download the game. Sweet! Even more great news is that the developer is officially working on Doom for the iPhone also. Time to head to your local AT&T or Apple store and give Verizon the big middle finger. Seriously, Verizon, what the fuck were you thinking. As soon as my contract is up, I'm jumping ship to AT&T. John Carmack Releases Open Source Wolfenstein iPhone Port |

It's that time of year again. Time to start talking about the next Madden, that is. What, you're not sick of the football juggernaut yet? According to Peter Moore, Madden 10 promises to be "the deepest, most graphically-rich Madden ever." You know, just like Madden 09. And 08. And so on. Yawn. Yes, every Madden has some graphic improvements and gameplay enhancements, what else is new? It's expected that as we progress in this console generation's life, graphics get better. And if they didn't add a few new features, no one would run out and buy the same damn game every single year. I still stand by my personal opinion that they should release roster updates via DLC every year, and a full retail game release every other year. It would keep the series much fresher, in my opinion. Sources close to VGWL have discovered that the wholesale price of PlayStation 3 consoles has dropped by $50 this week. What does this mean? It means that Sony is trying to cover their ass by denying a price drop so that current sales won't be hurt. So, either the wholesale price has magically dropped for no reason, or a price drop is coming within the next few weeks. We're willing to bet it's the latter. |

The votes are in, and Castle Crashers has managed to take home the honor of being the Xbox Live Arcade Game of the Year. Not only did it win the top prize, but it also came in on top in several other categories: Best Co-op Mode Best Original Game Good job, Castle Crashers. While I personally didn't see fit to spend 1200 points on the downloadable title, apparently a lot of other people did. If it ever drops to 600 points or less, I'll be picking it up. For a list of the other winners, visit Xbox Live. |

Head on over to the PlayStation Blog. We ask, what is XI? If you're a PS3 owner who hasn't logged on to Home lately (yea, me neither), now would be the time. Is Home actually worth more than a glance? I haven't logged on in months, because I found the whole experience to be underwhelming.. and cheesy. Yes, Home reeks of cheese. Today, however, I might have to log on to see just what the hell this XI is. According to the PS blog, it's "the world’s first console-based Alternate Reality Game". Sounds interesting. Let's hope it's not a huge let-down like so many of Sony's other offerings. XI HAS BEGUN! |
