Wii Sports Resort Landing in July E-mail
Written by Zombone

The eagerly-anticipated Wii Sports Resort will be releasing in July, Nintendo has officially announced. Along with the game, the Wii MotionPlus controller will be released, likely as a bundled-in accessory. Our Japanese neighbors will be enjoying the game a month early, as usual.

So, will Wii Sports Resort bring anything new to the table?  We expect tighter controls (thanks to the MotionPlus), but other than that, expect the same gameplay. If you liked the original Wii Sports, you shouldn't hesitate to pick up its successor.

Resident Evil 5 DLC Was On The Disk Already E-mail

If you didn't see this coming from a mile away, then you've been living under a rock. We called this weeks ago. The Resident Evil 5 DLC that you're paying for was already on the damn disk you bought and have in your hands. You're just paying to unlock content that you already physically own!  If this bullshit doesn't send you flying into a rage, then you're a corporate executive's wet dream.

Remember this?  Or how about this?  Wake up and stop supporting companies that engage in this practice. It's ridiculous. It's like buying a car and paying to use the already-installed air bag.

Capcom isn't the only publisher engaging in this, obviously. We're pretty sure EA does it too.  It's a growing trend, because it makes them more money. The only way to combat this crap is to stop buying DLC that was on the media all along. How do you know if it's on the disk?  If DLC comes out within a month of a game's release, it's a safe bet to assume it was already completed.  Likewise, if a DLC pack is less than 10MB or so, it's another safe bet that you're just downloading  an unlock key, not actual content.

Amazon Offering Digital Xbox 360 Marketplace Purchases E-mail

Amazon appears to be in a very comfortable position with Microsoft right now. So much so, that the online retailer is now able to offer digital purchases which could previously only be made via the Xbox 360 console.

Want some Xbox Live points but don't want to plug your credit card number into your console? Hop over to Amazon, purchase the points, and get the code instantly via email.  All I can say is wow. With the recent hacking of Xbox Live accounts, it's certainly a good alternative to storing your credit card number on the console. Imagine being able to buy your games with real money intead of points. Win!

Nice job, Amazon. No clue how you managed to woo Microsoft into this, but it's great news nonetheless.

Rumor: PSP 2 Coming This Year E-mail

Let's face it. Sony's handheld is in trouble. Sales have always been lackluster, but even with the release of the PSP-3000, sales didn't take off as well as expected. Some of this is due to the PSP's smallish library of triple-A titles. It's also because controls on the PSP can be frustrating, given its single analog stick and lack of touchscreen controls.

Well, not much longer. Rumors suggest that the PSP2, due before Christmas, will be sporting dual analog sticks and touchscreen capabilities. If this is true, it could seriously shift the PSP's position in the handheld gaming market. A lot of gamers are flocking to the iPhone as an alternative, and rightly so. But if the PSP were to get a complete overhaul, not just a ridiculous "upgrade" like the PSP-2000 and PSP-3000, Apple might have a real competitor on their hands. Let's wait it out and see.

PSP 2 coming pre-Christmas will be an iPhone beater

No? Well, feast your eyes on this. I was expecting a bit more, but it wasn't meant to be. This is probably the most boring trailer ever, so don't expect to be blown away.

Resident Evil 5 Versus Mode DLC Coming Tomorrow E-mail

The much-anticipated Resident Evil 5 "versus mode" DLC will be available tomorrow on the PSN and XBL, ringing in at around $5. Not a bad price point if you ask me, certainly better than the normal $10 asking price we see on so many DLC packs.

So, will you be dropping some cash on this?

Saints Row 3 Next Year? E-mail

If the recent news from THQ is any indicator, there's a good chance we'll see the next iteration of Volition's sandbox game in 2010. THQ recently stated that Saints Row 3 is scheduled for their fiscal year 2011, which begins in April, 2010. While we doubt it'll be ready that quickly, it's possible that it might make a summer release.  If not, the planned DLC should keep us busy in the meantime, but we're more than excited to learn there will indeed be a sequel, especially after all the turmoil at Volition.

Great news, THQ!

Poor Bethesda. They just can't seem to get the Pitt DLC for Fallout 3 to work properly. It was released, pulled, re-released, and now revised yet again. Is it so hard? I don't see any other publishers struggling this much. Seriously, get your act together Bethesda, it's making you look bad!

Will the Special Phoenix Wright DSi Come to America? E-mail

Japan sure gets all the cool stuff. From special edition PSP's to DS's, and now DSi's.

The special bundle includes the DSi system with special graphics on it (see below), and a copy of the new Phoenix Wright game. The bundle will run roughly $240 and we do hope that eventually it will make it stateside.
